About Me

Welcome to Kiara Cress Photo!!

I’m an Arizona based documentary-style photographer, with a love for storytelling and capturing the little details that make moments unforgettable. My heart is to create photos that feel genuine—true to who you are and the story you’re living. From the quiet, in-between moments to the laughter that can’t be staged, I want to bottle it all up so you can hold onto it forever.

When I was 10 years old, my mom gave me my first camera for Christmas. I was a cheerleader at the time, so naturally, I brought my camera to every competition and would take photos all day long of all of my friends. The best part of every competition was sending out my album to my teammates and hearing about how much the girls & their moms loved them.

My entire life, when asked what my dream job was, I would always say “a stay at home mom... or a wedding photographer!” But the latter always felt like a distant dream or something that I couldn’t do for some reason. While I was in the process of planning my wedding and booking vendors, I would ask every vendor that I interviewed how they got into what they were doing. And the answer was common among all of them: they just started. So I decided to pursue my dream also, by just starting. I am so grateful that God has blessed Kiara Cress Photo already, and I am so eager and ready to see what’s in store!

I am currently based in Arizona, and the rest of my family live in Boise, Idaho. My husband and I spend our summers driving to the west coast to surf, and our winters driving up north to snowboard. I love being outdoors, and I love green places with all my heart. I’d drive any distance to sit in a lush field for even just an hour. My love for God’s creation is the lens I see through, and the perspective through which I capture all of my work.

Some of My Passions:

Jesus!, Snowboarding, Surfing, Reading, Roadtrips, Long Walks, spending time with my family in Idaho, big green pretty fields, cooking, being with Jacob, spending time with my church family

In May of 2025, I got married to my husband Jacob Cress. Jacob and I started dating in college and knew we wanted to get married 7 weeks in. My dad told us we had to wait until we both graduated college, so we dated for 3 long but very fun years, and 2 weeks after Jacob’s college graduation, we got married! Our wedding was our absolute dream day and everything we prayed that it would be - and my heart is for that to be true of everyone’s wedding day!
